How many TCM softgel products are offered?
There are six products offered at this time. They are all packaged in 100 capsules per bottle.
What is softgel?
Softgel Capsules are one-piece capsules that encase a predetermined dose of liquid or semi liquid fill of herbal extract. Softgels are formed, filled and hermetically sealed in a single operation. Created of natural gelatin, they are easily biodegradable and pose absolutely no threat to the environment. In addition, airtight softgels have the ability to keep their contents fresh and potent for a prolonged period of time with little or no preservatives.
What are the advantages of utilizing softgel for Chinese herbal formulas?
Softgel has become widely used in prescription, OTC pharmaceuticals, and nutraceuticals. Kanion® softgel Chinese herbal medicine has the following advantages:
1) Improved bioavailability, 2) Fast to disintegrate and to be absorbed: the time taken for the softgel capsule to disintegrate is about 1/4 of the time for regular pills, 3) Higher content of active ingredients: active ingredients are extracted with steam, water and alcohol from raw materials, 4) Prevent loss of active ingredients, particularly the volatile components that tent to be evaporated during heating and drying processes, 5) Easier to swallow, 6) Elegant appearance and better patient confidence, 7) Masked herbal odors, 8) Smaller dosage
Who is the manufacturer of the softgel products?
Kanion Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd., is a leading manufacturer and an innovator in the realm of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM), located in Jiangsu Province China. The first line products launched are Kanion's technologically advanced and structurally easy to absorb SOFTGEL CAPSULE CHINESE HERBAL FORMULAS through Honso USA, Inc.

It is this manner in which Kanion has produced over 50 kinds of medicinal and healthcare products and under which they have received Chinese government approval on 13 New Drug Certificates of their Chinese medicine products. Kanion now finds itself manufacturing at an annual capacity of 1.5 billion tablets, 170 million soft capsules, 1.2 billion hard capsules, 1000 tons of granules, not to mention the large exportation of Kanion products to Japan, South Korea, and other areas in Southeast Asia, and now America!
Kanion works in collaboration with over 10 Chinese colleges, universities, and research institutes in both Western and traditional Chinese medicine fields in order to firmly plant itself at the cutting edge of pharmaceutical research. Why is Honso adding other Chinese herbal products?
Over the years, Honso customers have greatly enjoyed the high quality that Kampo products offer. However, the limited number of Kampo formulations being made available in the US has been inhibiting the usage of Honso Kampo products by practitioners. Honso has been carefully sourcing other high quality herbal products. We found that Kanion has a very similar philosophy and passion paralleling Honso's ideals and standards on making the best quality Chinese medicine products. All Kanion's imported products are manufactured in accordance with the Chinese Pharmacopeias in its GMP certified facilities. The quality of the products is tested by Honso Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd., in Japan as well as by Kanion's QC Department in China.
